The Strategy team
Slalom's Strategy team helps our clients re-imagine what's possible, when making the most of technology and modern ways of working. As a Strategy Consultant, you will lead from the front, working in both team-based projects, interacting with clients, assisting with pre-sales pursuits, and providing mentoring to more junior consultants.
The Role: Strategy Consultant
As a Strategy Consultant, you'll work within small, agile project teams under the guidance of senior strategists to deliver strategic advisory services across research, analysis, and business development. You'll conduct comprehensive research, build financial models, create executive-level presentations, and engage directly with clients to support critical decision-making. Working across 4–5 engagements per year, you'll contribute to both client delivery and business development efforts that drive our growth.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct strategic research on market trends, technology solutions, competitors, and peers, synthesizing insights into actionable recommendations
- Build financial models and business cases including TCO analysis and ROI for Cloud, Data Platform, and AI initiatives
- Create and deliver executive-ready presentations that communicate strategic recommendations and implementation roadmaps
- Lead client engagement by facilitating workshops, building relationships, and managing stakeholder dynamics
- Support business development through proposal contributions, client research, and pitch deck creation
- Leverage AI-based tools to enhance research, analysis, and strategic delivery for both internal and client use
- Partner cross-capability to bridge strategy with execution across transformation, technology, and digital teams
What You’ll Bring
- 2-3 years in strategy consulting, management consulting, professional services, or internal strategy
- Confidence with technology and IT projects including Data & Analytics, Cloud, AI, and emerging tech trends
- Proven financial modelling experience including business cases and economic analysis
- Hands-on experience using AI-based tools for analysis and client recommendations
- Strong research capabilities with ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to create executive-level presentations
- Ambitious with strong EQ, client presence, and ownership mindset in ambiguous environments
Our Values:
Our culture and values reflect each individual Slalomer. We are dedicated to encouraging workplace diversity and ensuring all our people, from any background can contribute to their full potential. We wish to build a team that echoes the diversity of the communities we serve, and our values are an active part of our every-day, guiding our decisions.
What keeps us here?
When we moved to Australia in 2020, we had no idea just how important our work/life balance would need to be. We’ve asked our consultants what makes Slalom a great place to work and the most common answer - "the freedom to be ourselves when life gets in the way". We make a big effort to bring everyone together and allow space when space is needed. We believe in helping each other thrive in work and life and are proud to invest in benefits that include holistic wellbeing, meaningful allowances, and investment in our team’s professional, technical, and personal growth.
Slalom is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes all qualified applicants.
