Job Title: Data Delivery Owner (For Vacant Role)
We are seeking an experienced Data-Oriented Program Delivery Leader, to lead the development and implementation of clients’ data products, data ecosystems, and data transformation initiatives. This multifaceted role combines strategic program and team leadership with a depth in data & analytics, and a passion for solving clients' most strategic business initiatives through leading data-driven insights and solutions.
This role will manage large transformation programs, data-oriented workstreams within programs, depending on scope and organizational needs. It will be hands-on managing delivery execution using Agile frameworks and tools.
This role will bridge technical execution, business strategy, stakeholder management, and team enablement to deliver solutions that unlock the value of clients’ data assets and promote data-driven decisions supporting strategic client outcomes.
What You’ll Do
• Lead end-to-end delivery of data products, data transformation programs, and data-focused workstreams, owning scope, timelines, budgets, and staffing to ensure successful, profitable outcomes aligned to business objectives.
• Serve as the primary solution and delivery owner, balancing business needs with technical feasibility, scalability, and architectural standards while making data-informed prioritization and trade-off decisions.
• Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating technical capabilities into business value and managing expectations across scope, timelines, and resources.
• Own financial and strategic program outcomes by articulating ROI, cost savings, revenue opportunities, and long-term value of the solution and associated client and delivery data initiatives.
• Drive account (client) growth through strong delivery execution, high quality delivery outcomes, trusted client relationships, and measurable outcomes.
• Coach and enable high-performing, self-organizing teams through agile principles, practices, and mindset.
• Empower delivery team to maintain momentum by proactively resolving impediments, serving as a trusted resource when navigating complex or uncertain situations, and championing the delivery principles that guide the team's ways of working.
• Leverage AI, automation, and AI-powered collaboration tools to streamline delivery, improve productivity, surface insights and lessons learned, and support faster, data-driven decisions.
• Contribute to growing and improving the Slalom Data Capability through mentorship, sharing best practices for delivery leadership and execution, and engaging in community development
What You’ll Bring
• Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, timelines, resource allocation, budget management, program dependencies, risks, and issues with appropriate mitigation strategies
• Partner with solution architects to facilitate alignment between business vision and technical implementation approach, while co-owning solution design and ensuring integration across workstreams
• Engage with executive sponsors, business stakeholders, client technical teams, and Slalom teams to explain and drive forward delivery solution initiatives and efforts
• Create and deliver executive summaries and presentations that demonstrate program vision, roadmap, solution impact, and program status
• Lead one or more agile teams by facilitating scrum events (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives)
• Facilitate prioritization of work items with client stakeholders and track prioritization at the necessary levels within the project (Program, Project, Epics, Features, User Stories) and document the details and requirements in said levels
• Guide the team in estimation techniques (story points, planning poker) and capacity planning
• Validate solutions against requirements and ensure acceptance criteria are met
• Track team velocity, burndown charts, and other agile metrics to drive predictability
• Responsible for comprehensive documentation including requirements, process flows, and acceptance criteria
• Responsible for creation of clear, actionable backlogs aligned with business priorities, governance frameworks and operational playbooks, surfacing, managing, and seeing Risks and Issues to resolution
Key Responsibilities:
• 7+ years of experience in technical project management, product management, technical delivery leadership roles, data products, analytics platforms, data warehousing, or data transformation initiatives
• Understanding of modern data platforms and architecture, including data lakes, data warehouses, ETL/ELT patterns, APIs, cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and modern data stack technologies such as Snowflake, dbt, Databricks, DataOps, and data mesh
• Expertise in Agile Delivery demonstrated through project experience. Proficiency with agile tools (Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Miro, Version One, Rally, etc.), work management platforms (Monday.com, Asana, etc.), and team planning tools (Jira Roadmaps, Azure DevOps Delivery Plans, Microsoft Planner, Project, etc.) and familiarity with test case management strategies and tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail, Zephyr, qTest, etc.)
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills with ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences and comfortable with leading executive-level communications and project-level workshops
Key Competencies:
• Strategic thinking with ability to balance long-term vision and short-term execution and strong analytical and problem-solving skills with data-driven decision-making approach
• Ability to confidently present to C-suite executives and senior leadership with clarity, credibility, and conciseness; craft compelling narratives that connect technical solutions to business strategy and organizational goals
• Understanding of industry trends, competitive landscape, and domain-specific challenges for the specific program and client industry
• Sufficient technical depth to engage meaningfully in architecture or solution discussions while maintaining business perspective
• Demonstrate how data products enable strategic initiatives such as operational excellence, customer experience enhancement, innovation, or digital transformation
• Drive organizational change by articulating the "why" behind transformations and securing buy-in across all levels
• Collaborative leadership style that builds consensus and drives alignment

Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For this role, we are hiring at the following levels and targeted base pay salary ranges: The targeted base salary pay range is $100,000 to $132,000 CAD. In addition, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
