Technical Lead / Software Architect

Slalom Launch builds and scales modern digital products and platforms, partnering with clients and internal ventures to take ideas from concept through market-ready execution. Launch builds and operates a strategic, cloud-native SaaS platform and the products that run on it. The platform serves as the operating foundation for a portfolio of products and is built using modern, AI-enabled engineering practices.

This role is a hands-on technical leadership position within Slalom Launch, responsible for guiding day-to-day engineering execution and owning solution architecture across application, infrastructure, data, and security. You will lead a small team delivering features for a long-lived product portfolio, emphasizing maintainability, platform reuse, and product outcomes over project delivery.

What You Will Do

• Lead day-to-day technical execution for a product or platform pod.
• Own solution architecture decisions across application, infrastructure, data, and security layers.
• Drive high code quality through reviews, standards, and engineering best practices.
• Translate architectural designs into implementation plans and guide teams through complex trade-offs.
• Mentor engineers and support professional growth within the team.
• Contribute hands-on to critical implementation work and complex technical problems.
• Ensure delivery aligns with platform standards, security, reliability, and performance expectations.
• Contribute to reference architectures, patterns, and reusable platform capabilities.
• Support release readiness and operational quality for subscription products.
• Bring client-facing experience while staying focused on internal product outcomes.

What You Will Bring

• Strong hands-on engineering experience across backend systems, with full-stack experience preferred.
• Proven technical leadership in agile product delivery.
• Deep experience designing software solutions for SaaS or platform products.
• Strong knowledge of cloud-native architectures and distributed systems.
• Hands-on expertise with AWS services across compute, networking, security, and data is required; experience with other major cloud platforms is a plus.
• Ability to communicate complex technical decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Understanding of CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and automated testing.
• Familiarity with knowledge graphs, metadata-driven architectures, or similar approaches for connecting structured and unstructured information is preferred.
• Experience with multi-tenant and subscription platforms is a plus.

Location and Collaboration Model

This role is based in Guadalajara, Mexico, where the core engineering team is located. You will work closely with product, design, and leadership counterparts based in the United States and other Slalom markets, operating in a highly collaborative, cross-geography model.
