Who You’ll Work With
GitHub has become one of Slalom’s strongest Microsoft plays — and a strategic entry point into broader application and Azure modernization. With strong, growing demand and meaningful joint investment behind it, the opportunity has reached the point where it calls for a single, dedicated owner to realize its full potential.
We are creating a dedicated Director role as a GitHub Subject Matter Expert (SME) — the accountable owner who turns that momentum into results. GitHub is the tip of the spear for our Zero Legacy and Azure Modernization strategy: it isn’t a standalone product motion, it’s how we drive broader modernization and AI transformation work with our clients, including GitHub Copilot, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and our Forward Deployed Expertise (FDE) capabilities.
You’ll sit on Slalom’s Microsoft Cloud team within Cloud + Build and operate across the business, partnering closely with:
- The Platform & Software Engineering delivery Disciplines — where the GitHub capability is embedded from a delivery standpoint.
- Slalom market, account, and sales leadership, to originate and accelerate pursuits.
- The Microsoft GitHub partner team and co-sell counterparts.
- Offering, solution, and pursuit leaders across the Zero Legacy and AI Transformation portfolios.
What You’ll Do
This role is GTM-led but delivery-connected. The GitHub capability lives within the Platform & Software Engineering Disciplines from a delivery standpoint, and your success depends on a tight, two-way partnership with that team. You will:
- Co-create what we sell. Build offerings hand-in-hand with Platform & Software Engineering delivery leaders so that everything we take to market is grounded in what we can deliver — and deliver well.
- Translate the sales motion into delivery. Turn pursuits into executable delivery models, staffing plans, and reusable assets, with clean handoffs from sell to deliver.
- Bring delivery into the deal. Pull Platform & Software Engineering practitioners into pursuits to strengthen solutioning and build client confidence.
- Close the loop. Feed delivery insights, client outcomes, and lessons learned back into offering development and GTM strategy.
- Ensure delivery team success. Own the GTM scope as a dedicated role rather than bolting it onto practitioners’ billable work — sustaining momentum without burning out the people who deliver it.
What You’ll Bring
- Director-level experience that spans both worlds — go-to-market and business development, and hands-on technical delivery in platform and software engineering, application modernization, or DevOps.
- Deep GitHub expertise — the GitHub platform, GitHub Copilot, modern DevOps practices, and Azure / application modernization.
- A proven track record originating and closing deals, building offerings, and growing a practice or play.
- Microsoft partner ecosystem experience — co-sell, MDF/ECIF, and joint go-to-market.
- Full-arc range — the ability and appetite to build offerings, originate deals, solution, and deliver, and to own all of it as a single accountable owner.
- Executive presence and storytelling to represent Slalom at flagship client and partner events.
- A collaborative, team-first orientation, with a history of partnering across sales and delivery organizations.
