Cloud – Senior Consultant/Principal (DevOps)

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct comprehensive infrastructure survey documenting servers, hosting, networking, and environment topology.
  • Assess the source control system including tooling, repository structure, branching strategy, code review practices, repository ownership, and build reproducibility.
  • Map the current end-to-end SDLC process, evaluate maturity against industry benchmarks (e.g., DORA metrics), identify gaps in automation, quality gates, environments, and governance, and design a phased SDLC improvement roadmap.
  • Evaluate the current SDLC tooling landscape and recommend improvements: including AI-augmented options.
  • Document the current infrastructure architecture including hosting, server topology, load balancing, caching, monitoring, logging, and disaster recovery, and assess current deployment processes for maturity and environment parity.
  • Design the target-state DevOps architecture, including CI/CD pipeline design, environment strategy, containerization, Infrastructure as Code, and observability strategy.
  • Conduct surface-level security scanning using dependency analysis and SAST tools, identify known vulnerabilities and review secrets management practices, and recommend further assessment where significant findings warrant it.
  • Contribute technical findings to the consolidated risk register and participate in executive readouts and technical deep-dive sessions with client teams.

 

What You Will Bring

Must Have

  • 8+ yearsof experience in DevOps engineering, platform engineering, or infrastructure roles
  • Deep expertise inCI/CD pipeline design and implementation(Azure DevOps Pipelines, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or equivalents)
  • Strong understanding of.NET build and deployment processes: MSBuild, NuGet, IIS deployment, Windows Server
  • Experience withmodern frontend build tooling: Node.js, npm/yarn, webpack/Vite, React build pipelines
  • Experience withsource control systems: Git (including migration from TFS/TFVC/SVN to Git)
  • Experience assessing and improvingSDLC maturityin enterprise organizations
  • Understanding ofinfrastructure architecture: load balancers, reverse proxies, DNS, SSL/TLS, networking
  • Experience withenvironment management: provisioning, configuration management, environment parity
  • Familiarity withsecurity scanning tools: SAST (SonarQube, Checkmarx), dependency scanning (Snyk, OWASP Dependency-Check)
  • Experience designingcoexistence architecturesfor phased migrations: running legacy and modern applications side-by-side
  • Strong documentation skills: ability to produce clear infrastructure diagrams and DevOps strategy documents
